While driving with children in the car, there are a number of key features that should be remembered.
| - |
Children should be restrained at all times |
| - |
Select a car seat that conforms to ECE Regulation 44-03 |
| - |
Children under 150cms should use a booster seat with their seatbelt |
| - |
Ensure that all passengers under 17 are restrained properly |
| - |
Ensure that the baby seat is suitable to the childs height and weight |
Baby seats come in two styles, forward facing and rear facing and are categorized into groups which graduate into booster seats and booster cushions. Booster seats do not need a harness in place. Once seated in the booster seat, the seatbelt is used normally.
In Ireland it is illegal for children to travel in a car without a baby seat, or for children under 150cm tall. For more information about the child safety when renting a car with Malone, or about any other service, please do not hesitate to contact us. |
