The Connemarathon is probably the most appealing to any runner as it offers a full marathon situated in some of the most breath taking scenery in Ireland. While many of the world's most famous marathons are traditionally associated with a city route, the Connemara International Marathon presents a fresh new version of 'the marathon' and its surroundings. |

| |
Perhaps the world's most spectacular marathon, the Connemarathon offers a unique experience with half, full and ultra marathons on offer in the same day. Both walkers and runners are catered for although a cut off time of 5 hours applies for the full marathon. |

Despite the Connemara area being very hilly, the marathon course profile is very flat with lows of just above sea level and highs of under 100 meters above sea level. The entrance fee includes bus transfers from Clifden, Galway and Oughterard to the starting line. Due to the confines of space along the route there is no room for car parking at either the starting line or the finish line. |
