Taking place annually on the June Bank Holiday weekend, the Cork City Marathon was revived during 2007 after not being held since 1986. The race is open to runners, walkers, wheelchairs and relays of up to five runners. The course is largely flat but with several small sharp hills and commences on St Patrick's Street and is suitable for all marathon runners. |

Entry to the race is available until 8th May 2009, but late registrations are charged extra. The course travels through Cork City Center twice, at the start and at the finish line and includes the Jack Lynch Tunnel. |

The route is very widely spaced around Cork and runners will not be revisiting many areas along the way. Runners, joggers and walkers get fantastic support throughout the course in terms of medical aid and water stations, and can enjoy a spectacular finish on St Patrick’s Street.. |
