The Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is a panoramic trail in County Kerry in the very south west of Ireland. The trail is 170km in a circular route and covers many of the highlights of the unspoilt County Kerry countryside. The Ring of Kerry has much to offer any visitor..

The starting point for the Ring of Kerry is Killarney which takes its name from “The Church of the sloe”. The Town is a major tourist centre in Kerry and is remarkable for the way the intertwine tourist activities with the economic life of the town. Killarney is a beautiful town that is well worth exploring.

The next stop on the journey is Kenmare which is a small town that offers visitors breathtaking scenery alongside superb tourist accommodation and facilities. After Kenmare, your next stop will be Sneem which is situated on the Iveragh Peninsula itself. The town is relatively small and picturesque, but is surrounded by stunning scenery. After Sneem the next town will be Waterville which is situated on a narrow strip of land with Lough Currane on the east and Ballinskelligs Bay on the west.

Cahersiveen is the next town on the Ring of Kerry. Daniel O’Connell is from Chaersiveen and he is the only person in Ireland who isn’t a priest to have a church named after him. Glenbeigh is the next stop on the Ring of Kerry. The village is in an excellent location for outdoor activities and as is common on The Ring of Kerry, is surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

Killorglin, which is close to Tralee, is the last stop on the Ring of Kerry. The Town is famous for the Puck Fair which takes place here every year. This extraordinary event is held over 3 days in August and sees a goat crowned Puck Goat.
