As a nation we go a long way to welcome children. Many of our hotels provide childcare or if required a cot or fold away bed, (if required it is advised you let your accommodation know at the time of booking). If renting a car, many agencies can provide baby or booster seats, again you should request this from your supplier before you travel. |

Bars and restaurants can provide you with a kiddies menu or give you a child’s portion. Children are allowed in pubs usually until 18.00. |

Many attractions offer cut price children’s rates, usually half the adult rate to visit. Children’s rates on busses and trains are cheaper than for adults. Many of the countries top attractions such as castles, museums and zoos will also provide special family rates which usually provide entry for two adults and up to 4 children.. |

Why not look out for “A Tour of Favourite Kid’s Places”. This is published by the Irish Tourist Board and should give enough information to cover a week’s travel for kids in Ireland. |

Another source of what’s on and upcoming events is the “Irish Times”, which has a what’s on type section in its Wednesday edition. |
