County Cork

Situated in the south of Ireland, County Cork is the larges county in Ireland with a total area of just under 7,500 sq kilometres. In total the county  has a population of just under 450,000 people, among which over 274,000 people live either in Cork City or in the suburbs of Cork City.

The landscape is dominated by east to west ridges of sandstone and limestone valleys through which the Rivers Lee, Blackwater and Bandon flow through. In terms of economy, Cork is ideally suited for agriculture and dairying is predominant which arable production is important to the east of Cork Harbour.
