The Lombard Street East Area

Lombard Street is the location of the Malone Car Hire offices in Dublin City Centre. The Street runs from the River Liffey to Pearce Street which is one of Dublin’s main drags for vehicles travelling from the south side of the city to the north side. The Street is mixed residential and commercial and is ideally located beside Pearce Street DART Station.

Pearce Street runs perpendicular to Lombard Street East as it travels one way west, and then north before crossing the River Liffey. The Street has recently gone through resurgence and is now home to a number of popular bars. The main function of the street is to bring traffic from the south side of Dublin to the north side through Tara Street. As you travel left Trinity College boarders part of the street while the rest is generally boarded by Georgian Buildings, residential areas and churches.

Pearce Street DART Station is located very close to Lombard Street and provides access to the Dublin Area Rapid Transport system. The station is like stepping back in time to Victorian times. From here you can travel from Howth (North) to Bray (South).

The area around Lombard Street is relatively quiet when its central location is taken into account. The area is surrounded by commercial areas while being mainly inner city residential itself. Lombard Street is only a 5 min walk away from Grafton Street and College Green.
