Malone Car Rental was established in 1995 by
Joe Malone who was the former Director General of Bord Fáilte (Irish
Tourist Board). Colm Menton and the Keary Group bought the company from
Joe Malone in 1998. Colm Menton still serves as the Managing Director today.
Malone Car Rental acquired the Thrifty Franchise
for the Republic of Ireland in 2002. This was the platform that Malone Car
Rental needed to provide a better service to their customers and subsequently
a better product.
Today the fleet of Malone / Thrifty Car Rental
is about 1800 vehicles and Malone / Thrifty now compete in both the long
term corporate and commercial sectors. In 2003 the offices at the Dublin
Airport office were considerably improved upon to offer a better infrastructure
within the company, and thus a better and more competitive service.
In 2004 the Dollar franchise was added to the stable and Colm Menton
bought out the Keary Group. Hyundai Ireland was brought in as new business
partners.
Today the future of the company looks good with
a skilful and helpful staff providing the backend needed to support the
continued growth of the company. The strength of Malone Car Rental Ireland
is in the range of its services and the fact they can supply any vehicle
to anybody for any amount of time.
