Situated on the North West coast of Ireland and in the province of Ulster, County Donegal offers a mixture of stunning mountains and seascapes. Donegal is often referred to as the forgotten county as regards tourism, and as such is less well developed than other areas in Ireland. This offers both advantages and disadvantages as the area is less likely to be busy during peak times, but tourist attractions may be less well developed.
The Inishowen 100 is one of the best touring routs in Ireland and is so named due to its approximate length, 100 miles. Donegal Castle, Donegal Town Franciscan Friary and the Slieve League Cliffs are also worthwhile attractions. |
